Shanghy (Shangha Nee Furby Dream *PL) was born on 25th of April 2002 in Wrocław. She is black mackerel tabby with white. Her mother is Furby ( Fiesta) Jompi *PL and her father is EC-Belmond from Belmicoon cattery. We fell in love with her from the first sight. At the very beginning- when we saw her on the photo, and then in the reality. We were a little bit worried, because when we came to the cattery and we were to go back to the Czech Republic, she hid under the bed and didn’t want to get out. Martin must almost force her to do this. In the car, on our way home she laid on my knees - and when she looked at me and started to purr - I was so happy.
Shangha has very strong personality. She knows what wants and it’s impossible to trade with her. When she wants to be caressed she comes by herself. But it’s always her own initiative. If we are up to do it- we have to wait for her turn. Fortunately we sometimes have the same inclination at the same time.
Her day starts at 6 o’clock in the morning, however sometimes she likes to get up even at 4 in the morning. In that case she comes to our bed (when she doesn’t sleep with us), jumps onto the bedding and purrs loudly so that we can hear it. She stares at us in the face, every time we have our eyes opened. When we don’t react she starts roaming around the bedroom and yells mrrrrrrrauuuuuuuu. She scratched our bed at the same time (we had to secure it and that’s why our bed has become a kind of her a special toy). She is very impatient - pity on one who hasn’t his or her legs covered by the bedding (mostly Martin). Like a hunter she hunts for our feet- that lasts about 30 minutes. If we stand this tortures, our Shanghy gets bored and she falls asleep with us. Then we are secure until we get up- under one condition: Legolas doesn’t join Shanghy.
When we get up Shangha Nee is always first on the sink in our bathroom and wants water to be turned on. She always drinks water from the tap or Legolas’ bowl. She dosen’t use her owns bowl at all. When she drinks that water from the tap she continues the whole ritual. She starts walking around the bath tube and with loud mraaaaaau gives us a sign that she wants to be put on the bathroom window. It is the only window in the whole house, which she is unable to jump on- because of the fact that it is located too high and behind the bath tube. We can’t refuse her. We place her on that window and then she can admire the birds that everyday sit at the same place- the fence behind our bathroom window. Not to mention, she admires birds from every window- probably during this time she imagines how she hunts them. Then she makes a very strange sounds.
In the evening, when we come back from work, we can see on our kitchen window how delighted she is. But only when the door is opened, welcomes us Legolas. He is bigger than Shanghy and he is all around. After short while comes our Shangha. She rubs against our legs and snuggles up to us and purrs in a sweet way: finally you’re home!!
Shangha is very praying, she must check everything first and of course only by herself- almost everything in our house. She especially likes checking all the bags- from the inside. She is a companion in every domestic activity - maybe apart from vacuuming. Only when she hears this characteristic sound, run she and Legolas to the bedroom and hide under the bed. Reading with her companion is almost impossible. Only when she sees that we read a book or a newspaper, appears she immediately. She lays then on the newspaper which means: don’t look there, look at me!
When we have guests in our home she looks in, to check who had come. When a stranger wants to take her- she refuses. But sometimes she surprises our guests and out of the blue she starts rubbing against them and sniffing at them. She loves walks in our garden on the leash.
As far as Shangha Nee is concerned we wanted her to be the International Champion. We’ve already reached this aim, so we won’t expose her in the nearest time. Maybe later we’ll try to make her the Great International Champion. Shanghy’s best friend is Legolas. When we come back home form the exhibitions she quickly runs to welcome him. When we comb and powder her or clean her ears, Legolas must see what poor Shanghy is going through. They just form a small duo. Sometimes we have the impression the she prefers Legolas to us.
